One app for everything a household shares
Roommates is a free iPhone app for people who live together. Everyone in the house joins with an invite code, and everyone sees the same house, kept in sync as it changes.

A shared list anyone can add to. Claim what you'll pick up, check things off in the store, and the house sees it happen.

One-off and repeating jobs, split between roommates or rotated automatically. A job can be put on more than one person.

Log what you paid for and how it splits. The app keeps a running balance for everyone and settles up in a tap.

A shared calendar for the house: dinners, guests, the landlord's visit, plus whatever you choose to mirror in from your own calendar.

Google Calendar
See each other's schedules without asking
Knowing when a roommate is home is half of living together. Roommates can show your Google Calendar events on the house's shared Events tab, so nobody has to ask who'll be around on Thursday.
It is deliberately narrow:
- Read-only. The app only ever reads your calendar. Nothing you do in Roommates writes to, edits, or deletes anything in Google Calendar.
- One-way. Google events flow into Roommates. Events you create in Roommates stay in Roommates.
- Your choice, per calendar. You pick which of your calendars the house can see. Any calendar you leave switched off stays private, and its events never reach your roommates.
- Reversible. Disconnecting removes your mirrored events from the house.
Connecting is entirely optional. The app works fully without it. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is read, stored, and shared.
